Avery's Spring is a private disc golf course that we are thrilled have allowed us to use their course for a WNCHSDG event.

PLEASE REMEMBER NOT TO ARRIVE FOR A PRACTICE ROUND WITHOUT CLEARING WITH THE OWNERS FIRST.

General course notes:

No mandos (marked or otherwise) are in play.

On all holes the big creek/river and beyond is OB. The defining line for OB is the dropoff, NOT the water! If you disc falls off of the edge of the fairway, it is OB! [this generally impacts holes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6]

Any other water on the course is casual (including the small creek that runs alongside/through holes 9 and 18).

Some of the tee pads are close to the previous basket (especially on the front 9) so be aware and mindful before you throw.

COURSE RULES AND NOTES

ON ALL HOLES: Some fairways run close together and may overlap. Be careful and patient!

SHORTS:

Hole 1 [short]: Pavement and beyond OB. 

Hole 2 [short]: Tee from parking space 110. Flagged bushes on right and all pavement OB. 

Hole 3 [short]: Pavement and beyond OB. 

Hole 4 [short]: Tee from marked space on Sidewalk. Pavement and beyond OB. Shots that come to rest OB proceed to the marked drop zone with penalty. 

After hole 4, players must walk through the gate and between the baseball and softball fields. hole 5 (short) tees behind the first base dugout.

Hole 5 [short]: Barbed wire fence (deep in trees) is OB. The pained line represents CASUAL relief area. If a shot lands PAST the fence (or is lost), it is considered OB. If it lands between the fence and the pained line, players may take it line closest to the disc WITHOUT PENALTY. 

Hole 6 [short]: Pavement and treeline OB. Treeline has pained white OB line. Discs that come to rest stuck in trees (off of the ground) are considered OB. 

Hole 7 [short]: Tee is near the large wooden course sign across the street. Pavement OB. 

Hole 8 [short]: Double mando! If shot crosses outside of the indicated mando trees, throw from the drop zone with a stroke penalty. 

Hole 9 [short]: Pavement and beyond OB. Painted area behind basket plays as hazard (play from lie with stroke penalty)


MEDIUMS: 

Hole 1 [BVAR] / 10 [GVAR/BJV] [1 medium]: Tee from parking space 131. Pavement and beyond OB. 

Holes 2 [BVAR] / 11 [GVAR/BJV] [2 medium]: Mando RIGHT. If disc crosses left of the indicated tree, throw from the drop zone with a stroke penalty. Flagged bushes long and all pavement OB. 

Holes 3 [BVAR] / 12 [GVAR/BJV] [3 medium]: Tee from paved patio above hole 2 basket. Pavement and beyond OB. 

Hole 4 [BVAR] / 13 [GVAR/BJV] [4 medium]: Pavement and beyond OB. Discs that come to rest OB from the tee proceed to dropzone (flagged and chalked on sidewalk). For subsequent shots, normal OB rules apply. 

After hole 4, players must walk through the gate and between the baseball and softball fields. hole 5 (short) tees from the top of the hill along the first base line.

Holes 5 [BVAR] / 14 [GVAR/BJV]  [5 medium]: Walk around the back of the baseball field to find tee pad. Barbed wire fence (deep in trees) is OB. The pained line represents CASUAL relief area. If a shot lands PAST the fence (or is lost), it is considered OB. If it lands between the fence and the pained line, players may take it line closest to the disc WITHOUT PENALTY.  

Holes 6 [BVAR] / 15 [GVAR/BJV]  [6 medium]: Pavement and beyond OB. Treeline OB. Treeline has pained white OB line. Discs that come to rest stuck in trees (off of the ground) are considered OB. 

Hole 7 [BVAR] / 16 [GVAR/BJV] [7 medium]: Pavement and beyond OB. Tee shots that never cross in-bounds can proceed to short tee OR retee (both with penalty). For discs that cross in bounds but come to rest OB (road or treeline), Normal OB rules apply. Discs that come to rest stuck in trees (off of the ground) are considered OB.

Hole 8 [BVAR] / 17 [GVAR/BJV]  [8 medium]: Double mando! If shot crosses outside of the indicated mando trees, throw from the drop zone with a stroke penalty. Teeing area and pavement are OB, if a tee shot never crosses inbounds, retee with penalty. 

Hole 9 [BVAR] / 18 [GVAR/BJV] [9 medium]: Pavement and beyond OB. Painted area behind basket plays as hazard (play from lie with stroke penalty)

LONGS:

Holes 10 [1 long]: Pavement and beyond OB. 

Holes 11 [2 long]: Mando RIGHT. If disc crosses left of the indicated tree, throw from the drop zone with a stroke penalty. Flagged bushes long and all pavement OB. 

Hole 12 [3 long]: Pavement and beyond OB. 

Holes 13 [4 long]: Tee from the paved area behind/above hole 1 basket. Pavement and beyond OB. Discs that come to rest OB from the tee proceed to dropzone (flagged and chalked on sidewalk). For subsequent shots, normal OB rules apply. 

After hole 4, players must walk through the gate and between the baseball and softball fields. Hole 5 (long) tees from the bottom of the hill along the first base line. 

Hole 14 [5 long]: Walk around the back of the baseball field and down the hill to find teepad (inside trees to your right). Barbed wire fence (deep in trees) is OB. The pained line represents CASUAL relief area. If a shot lands PAST the fence (or is lost), it is considered OB. If it lands between the fence and the pained line, players may take it line closest to the disc WITHOUT PENALTY. 

Hole 15 [6 long]: Tee from road -- PLEASE have non-throwing players watch for and stop incoming traffic as needed! Pavement and beyond OB. Treeline OB. Treeline has pained white OB line. Discs that come to rest stuck in trees (off of the ground) are considered OB. 

Hole 16 [7 long]: Tee from indicated space on road leading to baseball fields. PLEASE have non-throwing players watch for and stop incoming (vehicle and/or foot) traffic as needed! Pavement and before OB. Treeline OB. Treeline has pained white OB line. Discs that come to rest stuck in trees (off of the ground) are considered OB. Mando RIGHT of horse statue. Tee shots that never cross in-bounds OR that cross left of the mando can proceed to short tee OR retee (both with penalty). 

Hole 17 [8 long]: Players tee from parking spot Double mando! If shot crosses outside of the indicated mando trees, throw from the drop zone with a stroke penalty. Teeing area and pavement are OB, if a tee shot comes to rest OB, proceed to short tee with penalty. 

Hole 18 [9 long]: Please be mindful of players on hole 8/17. Teeing area and everything short of the road OB. Discs that come to rest OB proceed to short tee with penalty. Painted area behind basket plays as hazard (play from lie with stroke penalty)
